Welcome to Common Sense Canine Legislation.

I'm not quite sure where to start but I think a few rules will be the best place.

First:  We all need to agree to disagree.

There are many sides and views to each topic.  We need to be open to hearing the other person's ideas and opinions.  Rudeness, bad language and throwing, well, cow pies, will not be tolerated.

Second:  Be able to back up your comments with the facts.

Hearsay won't advance your cause.  Be sure to have links to webpages, be able to date any photos posted and always attribute comments to the author.  Also, no screen shots unless you show you have permission from the owner.

Third:   There is no perfect answer.

At some point in time we will need to compromise on a topic.  Please be ready for that.

Lastly:  We all agree that we are first and foremost, here for the dogs.

We agree that all legislation and laws should treat all animals humanely, providing the basic needs and that in the fight of breeders, rescues, shelters and owners, there are good ones and bad ones.   Be able to point out some of each when you choose to argue a point.

We'll try to keep this blog updated with the goings on around the country.  You may find this Iowa centered at times because we arein the heat of the battle here.  But we will try to find time to make this about issues across our nation as well as adding in some items concerning other animal legislation that is happening.

Remember the rules please and we hope that you can find this as a useful place to learn, talk and exchange ideas!

Thanks,
C and D
