The offer has been extended to the bill authors and supporters, to sit down and come up with legislation that addresses the issues of inhumane treatment of dogs in breeding facilities as well as the concerns about unregulated rescues illegally importing dogs into the state. We are fighting for a person's right to purchase a dog from anyone they choose and have the right to consumer protection and being provided with a healthy, well cared for, social dog to enjoy for it's entire life.

Here are the links to the current legislation being proposed in the Iowa legislature. We ask that you contact your representative or senator and tell them to KILL THE BILLS!! These bills promote unfair predatory business practices with escalating license fees, confusing language that is impossible to enforce and allows for almost no oversite on shelters, pounds and rescues who are importing large amounts of dogs into the state for resale.
